To get the most out of your Paytm app (including using Paytm Cash) you will need to verify your account. The following steps will guide you through the process:
Automatically verify your account in-app:
1. Complete your profile information.
- In the app, tap "More/Profile"
- Tap the pencil icon in the top right corner to edit
- Complete your profile*
*If you don't see your occupation, please choose the closest match.
2. Return to the app home page and tap "Rewards"
- Tap "Verify My Account"
- All done!
Manually verify your account:
In some cases, we may not be able to verify your account automatically and we'll need to review your documentation manually.
In an effort to take any guesswork out of the process, we've provided a complete guideline of accepted documents and where you can submit them.
We need one (1) document from at least two (2) categories:
1. Utility bill
- This can be a mobile, internet, hydro, water, or gas bill displaying your full name and address, matching your profile.

2. Canadian Government-issued ID
- This can be a Canadian driver’s license, passport, or permanent resident card. You must include both sides of your ID, displaying your full name and date of birth, matching your profile.

- Important: Health Cards are NOT accepted.
3. Bank or credit card statement
- The statement must be an original pdf download (or a picture of an original physical document) displaying your full name and address, matching your profile.

Invalid Documents: health cards, pay stubs, prepaid phone bills, letter of employment written by human resources, void checks, T4s, and documents not issued by the Canadian Government.
Important: your current Paytm profile address must match the address included on any submitted documents. Ensure that any documents are clear and unredacted.
If your document(s) do not meet these requirements, you'll be asked to resubmit.

Why do I need to verify my account?
In order to process certain kinds of monetary transactions, Paytm has many legal obligations enforced by the Canadian government. Verifying your account is specifically related to the prevention of fraudulent or illegal behaviour when moving money, such as money laundering. All banks are required to complete identity verification for their customers.
